  	Obituary: From West Highland Free Press May 1972 "Shieldaig saw its biggest funeral in memory last Saturday when Mrs Catherine MacLennan was removed to her resting place at Applecross cemetery. The service was conducted in the Free Presbyterian Church by Rev. Alex Murray, Applecross, and Rev. J. Ross, Lochcarron. Mrs MacLennan, who was 59, was formerly teacher at Arrina and until a year ago at Kinlochewe. She died at Inverness. Mrs MacLennan, an extremely popular member of the community, was born in Applecross. She is survived by her husband, formerly postmaster at Shieldaig, by two sons living in England and by a daughter who is nursing in Glasgow.
