  Arrived in Australia as an assisted immigrant aboard the Ida in January 1864. Says brother John already there in Wellington. Newcastle Morning Herald and Miners' Advocate (NSW : 1876 - 1954) Thu 31 Dec 1896 Page 6 AUSTRALASIAN ITEMS. Mr. William Ramsey, of Double Creek, Bega, died on Tuesday morning, aged 58 years. He was one of the most respected and successful farmers, and took an active interest in everything relating to the advancement of dairying in the district. He was a prominent member of the Bega Agricultural Society and a member of the School Board. The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954) Wed 30 Dec 1896 Page 6 BEGA, Tuesday. Mr. William Ramsey, of Double Creek, died this morning aged 58 years. He was one of the most respected and successful farmers, and took an active interest in everything relating to the advancement of dairying in the district. He was a prominent member of the Bega Agricultural Society and a member of the school board. He will be missed much by the Wesleyan body, of which he was a must liberal supporter.His last public act was to collect funds to wipe off the conference debt of that church.
