  Alligin school roll Parent Angus Mackenzie Inver Alligin Child John admitted 8/1879 born 4/9/1874 Obituary from Ancestry - no source John McKenzie, district resident 79 years, dies at 90. John McKenzie, a district resident for some 79 years, passed away on April 3rd, 1965 in Moosomin Union Hospital at the age of 90 years. The late Mr. Mckenzie was born in Inverness, Scotland, in 1874, and came to this country with his parents as a young lad in 1884 along with many other pioneers and lived in a tent for some time. He then farmed in the Iona district before moving to Coppice Hill district in ??? where he lived until retiring to Pioneer Lodge, Moosimon, in 1963. Surviving are his wife, the former Annie McRury; one son, Angus, Moosimon; four daughters, Mrs. Norman Sutherland (Margaret), of Brandon; Mrs. H Larson (Bernice), of Simmie, Sask; Mrs Ralph Hill (joyce), of Red Jacket; and Mrs Jack Meehan (Calina), of Calgary. There are 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on April 7th, 1965 in St Andrew's Prebyterian Church, conducted by Rev. T. Nyaradi-Nest. Interment was made in Sunset Memorial Gardes. Honorary pall bearers were Allan Hodgins, Wm. Crawford, Clarence Hill, Blake Pearce, Eric Obal, Phil Foy and Anhus McDonald. Active pallbearers were Leslie Brown, Alan Watt, Ralph Woods, Hugh McDougall, John Miller and Bruce Roy.
