ONCE TOO OFTEN.
Harold Eccleslon, 29, appeared before Mr. Clarke, S.M., this morning, at the Water Police Court, on a charge of obtaining money by false representation.
The evidence showed that on May 27 Ecclseton went to one Samuel Farey Sherwood, and said that he was sent by, Nellie Hayes, of 38 Bayswater-road, Sydney. He asked Sherwood to give him money to get away to the country.
Knowing a lady of that name at that adddress, Sherwood gave the accused 8s. Later on, Eccleston came again, with a similar request. Sherwood, suspecting a fraud, informed the police of Eccleston's doings. The accused was sentenced to three months' hard labour.
