ACTION AGAINST A MATLOCK FARMER.- At the County Court on Thursday John Herbert Cross, agricultural implement dealer, of Bakewell, sued Luke William Fox, butcher and farmer, of Starkholmes, Matlock Bath, for 12L 17s., the vatue of a mowing machine sold to the defendant. Mr. A. E. Ainsworth, of Buxton, appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. J. Potter, of Matlock, was for the defendant. -On July 28 last plaintiff delivered the machine to defendrant, who admitted himself wholly inexperienced in the management of machines. In order to test it he took it on his farm, which was on a steep hill-side, and on turning it it was alleged that the machine, owing to some-defect, completely overturned. -For the plaintiff it was urged that he had stated that the machine, being for one horse, was unfit to mow steep hillsides, and that it was going in direct opposition to these instructions that the accident arose. -Verdict for the plaintiff for 18l . MARRIAGE
