OUTLIVING HIS INCOME. On Tuesday, at Derby, a meeting was held of the creditors of Edwin Ernest Mather, residing at Rock Cottage, Middleton-by-Youlgreave, near Bakewell. The statement of affairs showed gross liabilities amounting to £864 2s., and assets £5, and there was a deficiency of £797 2s. The alleged cause of failure was " excess of expenditure over income." The Official Receiver's observations were to the effect that the debtor had been out of busiress for six years and his only income had been small amount earned as an insurance agent. The furniture which was said to belong to his wife, was claimed under a bill of sale given by her and the debtor on April 30. The Estate was left in the hands of the Official Receiver.

1325 Donald MacDonald residing at Ardheslaig and Catherine McIvor residing at Alligin Family (F506)

1326 Donald McDonald and Ann McBeath were married 16th January 1805. Both were from Alligin and Donald is described as a Fisherman in the 1841 census. There are surviving baptism records for 8 children born to the couple between 1805 and 1825. Donald died between 1841 and 1851 as Ann is listed as a widow on the 1851 census with her two younger children, Murdo and Ann. In 1861, Ann has daughters Isabella and Annabel living with her along with a granddaughter, Chirsty. Isabella and Chirsty are still living with Ann in 1871, so I am guessing that Chirsty is Isabella’s daughter. Family (F1590)

1327 Donald McDonald and Christian McDonald were married on 15th March, 1820. Both were from Alligin and Donald is described as a Fisherman in the 1841 census. Donald, Christy and children are listed on subsequent census’ at Inveralligin until their deaths – Chirsty died in 1877 and Donald in 1879.
Their son, Murdo, is living with them in 1871 with his new wife, Ann McKenzie. Murdo and Ann were married on 10th March 1868. Anne is from Diabaig. Murdo and Ann are still in Inveralligin in 1881, but Murdo dies in 1884. Ann then marries John McDonald from ??? in 1888 – both had been widowed and John’s first wife was also Ann McKenzie.

MUDGEE.
(From the Western Post.)
It in our extremely sad duty to report the death of Mr. D. McKenzie, of Hill End, which took place at 7 o'clock on Sunday morning, the cause of death boing pleurisy. Mr. McKenzie, with Mr. Bryant, visited the late Mudgee show, and one would then have taken a lease of his life. On the night Mr. John Norton spoke against the Federal Bill in Mudgee Mr. McKenzie attended the mooting when he contracted a slight cold. He did not take much notice of it, and returned to his home. Business
necessitated a visit to Bathurst, and there he caught a second cold. Returning home, no alarming symptoms manifested themselves, but the cold seemed to stick to him. Pleurisy then set in, and, despite the best medical skill and careful nursing, he succumbed on the above mentioned day at the early age of 35 years.
The death is a particularly sad one, as the deceased was married to Jessie, second eldest daughter of Mr. G. H. Bryant, by the Rev. G. W.Willis, on March 17, just a little over two years ago. The deceased was well and favourably know, and was one of the best pigeon shots in the western district. The suddenness of his demise came as a great shock to his
relatives in Mudgee, and it will go hard with his aged mother who lives near Bathurst.

Death of Well-Known Methven Tradesman.
The death of Mr Alexander Gibbons, clothier, Methven, occurred at his residence yesterday. In the end of last week he contracted a chill, which on Tuesday developed into peritonitis, and from the outset his condition was regarded by his medical attendant as serious.
Deceased was a native of the Dunning district, and came to the parish of Methven about 30 years ago, setting up in business as a tailor and clothier. He was a devoted supporter of the U.F Church, of which he was an elder, and quite recently he was made the recipient of a purse of sovereigns in recognition of his long service as superintendent of the Sunday School. In public life he took a keen interest, and for a long term was a member of the Parish Council. His hobby was in an antiquarian direction, and he was justly proud of a splendid collection of coins, tokens, &c., which had cost a considerable amount of time and money.
Deceased, who was 55 years of age, leaves a wife and family to mourn his loss.

Mathven - Unfermented Wine Question - The members of the U.P. Church were asked during the past two Sundays to record their votes for or against the use of unfermented wine at Communion Services. The votes were counted on Tuesday night, when it was found that 29 were in favour of the proposed change, and 16 against, about 100 members remaining neutral. At a meeting of Session held subsequently, it was agreed in view of the smallnes of the vote to adhere to the use and wont in the meantime. From this decision Mr Alexander Gibbons, a member of Session dissented.

Good Templarism in Perth.
The Independant Order of Good Templars held an "at Home" in the Victoria Institute, Dovecoteland, Perth last night. There was a large attendance, and amongst those present were: - Bailie Wright, District Deputy, who presided; Rev. D. C. McKellar, Grand Chief Templar, Denny; Mr Thomas Honeyman, Glasgow, Grand Secretary; Borther Thomas McLaren, District Chief Templar; Brother J. F Robertson, District Councillor; Brother David Morrison, Past District Chief Templar; Brother Alexander Dougal, Auchterarder, District Vice-Templar; Sister Eliza Young, Grand Messenger; Brother Alexander Gibbons, clothier, Methven; Rev. William Muir, Methven, &c. The Chairman said on behalf of their District Committee, he had to welcome all the office-bearers and subordinates of the Lodges in the district. This was the first time, he thought, they had met in that capacity. Good Templarism in Perthsire was never in such a healthy state as it was at present, and this, the Bailie held, was highly gratifying. The Grand Secretary also spoke, and dealt with the demands for temperance work and its rewards. Several songs and recitations were rendered during the evening.

ONCE TOO OFTEN.
Harold Eccleslon, 29, appeared before Mr. Clarke, S.M., this morning, at the Water Police Court, on a charge of obtaining money by false representation.
The evidence showed that on May 27 Ecclseton went to one Samuel Farey Sherwood, and said that he was sent by, Nellie Hayes, of 38 Bayswater-road, Sydney. He asked Sherwood to give him money to get away to the country.
Knowing a lady of that name at that adddress, Sherwood gave the accused 8s. Later on, Eccleston came again, with a similar request. Sherwood, suspecting a fraud, informed the police of Eccleston's doings. The accused was sentenced to three months' hard labour.
